My new job down in Sydney is going really well and i'm starting to get used to the travel now, my laptop is really helping with that, in the morning i've either been watching TV on it, or working on one of my sites and of an arvo i've been playing games.
My current game of choice is a bit old, but it's still great. C&C: Generals, i don't think i've ever played the whole game throught the first time i played it, so now every afternoon on the train i setup my laptop with wireless mouse sitting next to me (I live far enough away from Sydney that there are always heaps of empty seats, so finding two empty seats next to each other is never a problem) Then i settle down to some Generals, the hardest problem is remembering i'm on a train with headphones on, so when the GLA is completely destorying my base and all i'm left with is a couple of soon to be doomed tanks i can't actually swear out loud (people look at you strangley for doing that).
As for christmas, well christmas day involved 4 seperate christmas celebrations, starting in the morning with Daniels place with his family, followed by mum's place for lunch, then off to the beach with dad in the arvo, that was followed up with my Nan's place in the evening for a family get together. It was a very busy day, but still enjoyable.
New Years was no go for me, i was axed after my week of commuting and ended up going to bed at about 9pm, i'm not really into new years anyway.
Anyway this weekend hasn't been too bad. I went to the beach on Saturday morning for my usual early morning surf and followed that up by a bike ride over to my Nan's to visit her. On Sunday i went to the chook auctions as Wyong Racecourse in the morning and ended up with 2 Pekin Bantam pullets, 1 Buff & 1 Partridge and a White Silkie hen
(Pics below) - I've named them Kaylee, Aeryn & Rose.
After the chook auctions i went sandboarding with Daniel, Dave, Liam & Katie - Shaun was meant to come too, but there was no sign of him. Sandboarding was pretty much a bust cause it started raining not long after we got there, so after a couple of very very slow runs we gave up and instead headed to Soldiers Beach so Liam and Dave could have a go of surfing. We took the mal out on the sandbar and they both tried catching the broken waves, it was pretty funny to watch, but i did see Dave get up once, i'm not sure if Liam ever made it all the way to his feet. We also messed around with the skimboard a bit, Liam did the best stack on it, when he lost his balance and ended up with a massive bruise down his leg and nice looking lump under his knee.
When i got home in the arvo i checked out how the new chooks were going and Rose (The white Silkie) was having a lot of trouble seeing what was going on around her, cause he feathers were hanging down too low over her eyes. So i got some hair gel and gelled her feathers up, so she ended up with a sort of chicken mowhawk, she seemed a lot happier after that - even if all the other hens were still scared of her as was one of the roosters who refused to go near her... None of them have ever seen a silkie before, so i think she may have been creeping them out a bit.
The two younger pekins were settling in nicely, i don't think they have ever had gardens to scratch in and grass to roam around on before, cause they were going crazy scratching up all the gardens.
Rose (White), Kaylee (Buff), Aeryn (Partridge)
